The danger of tirany

What is happening today in North Korea is a warning light to the whole world.
North Korea is not just another country with a mad leader ruling his people using threats and fear,  North korea has nuclear capabilities which means that in the case of unstable government like the one we are witnessing now in north Korea – with its leader Kim Jong il dead, a lot of bad things can happen (and probably will happen).
I am not talking about the launching of a nuclear weapon from Korea to another country , but imagine what would happen if someone will try to make a quick profit  - like they did with the fall of the soviet union, and sell those weapons to the highest bidder.
Imagine what would happen if a Terrorist organization mad enough to use such a weapon – and there are many, 9/11 is a proof that such organizations exist and the have no fear – and even worse – no respect for human lives.
That is exactly the case with Iran today – the only difference is that Iran does not yet have a functional nuclear weapon.
We know that in the Iran-iraq war the two countries used unconventional weapons including chemical and some say even biological weapons, what would happen if they have nuclear weapons? Can the world afford having such people with such capabilities?
Ahmedinidjad is threatening the word today – when he really has no real military power, how would he act if he had nuclear weapons?

Two can play that game

Iran’s game of “we are not creating a nuclear weapon we just want nuclear technology…” is now played by the Americans as well.

The three “hikers” arrested in Iran recently pleaded not guilty of espionage and claim they were hiking the mountains and hills of Kurdistan as far fetched as that may seem, Iran’s revolutionary court now has to deal with the same difficulties the rest of the world is facing. It is quite obvious that the American hikers were not just hiking, the area they claim to hike at is a war zone and I find it hard to believe anyone will willingly go there unless they have a death wish. I am not saying the hikers are spies but maybe they hoped to get some scoops that will be worth money afterwards or something of the sort.

The Iranian court is now facing a big problem, a trial must take place and they need to find real evidence if they wish to keep these guys behind bars. The way I see it the Iranians have two optional moves in this political chess game:

  1. They find evidence or make up evidence claiming the hikers are indeed spies on an espionage mission risking an international incident.
  2. They release the hikers and try to “look good” to the international community which will get them some “humanity points” which they need so badly.

In any case, I think the Iranians will ultimately gain from this incident, at the moment the nuclear weapons issues is somewhere in the background when international efforts to release the American prisoners are taking the headlines spot.

The question which remains is what will the US do about two of it’s citizens being held in a foreign country under false pretense.

The old proud US would ask nicly then set an ultimatum, lets wait and see what the Obama US will do….

Iran’s right for nuclear fuel

the Saga continues, Iran keeps making jokes at the expense of the international community and the funny thing is that everyone keeps “buying” that.

Phrases like “Iran has a right to have nuclear reactors for “civilian” purposes and in the same breath they keep threatening the world and Israel in particular that they will annihilate it completely.

How can anyone take a peaceful statement or anything that resembles caring for Iranian citizens when militant threats are heard every other day by Iranian leaders and the Iranian president in particular.

In addition, the fact that Iranian funded weapons keep “finding their way” into terrorist hands does not help Iran base it’s claim for “the right to bring nuclear generated electricity” to it’s people.

It is well known that Iran’s only target is a nuclear weapon, but for some reason the international community keeps sanctioning the country showing the world something is done. The fact is, that there are some countries and Israel is one of them, that will never allow Iran to have a nuclear weapon. Whether we have the right to demand that from Iran or the international community is irrelevant, Israel will eliminate any nuclear future threat from Iran with any means necessary.

So to the world leaders I say: if you do want to prevent bloodshed and if you do want to have peace in the middle east and the world in general, start working harder to disarm Iran from it’s to be – nuclear capabilities, otherwise a military conflict will be inevitable.

The US also understands that Israel – it’s only true ally in the region will not allow Iran to achieve nuclear weapon capabilities, the US tries to achieve the same goal in peaceful means for a couple of years now, but since they have had no success in the matter, they will ultimately have no choice but to raise the bar.

An ultimatum is imminent as Iran keeps ignoring the international calls to stop nuclear development, the upcoming decisions will decide the faith of this region and the world in general. No one can think of a world where Iran will be able to threat other countries with nuclear attacks, they do that today with conventional weapons – imagine the world with a nuclear Iran with leaders such as Ahmedinidjad making threats every other day but this time – they will be much more dangerous.

Nonconstructive Sanctions?

Iran showed it’s resentfulness on recent European Sanction following Iran’s persistent will to achieve nuclear abilities. The Iranians are claiming that these sanction are “neither assisting the negotiations nor do they impose any harm on Iran”.

I only have a couple of things to say to the Iranian leadership:

  1. Sanctions are not supposed to be constructive – at least not when they are imposed against you, these sanctions are supposed to be destructive and nonconstructive as to make the country against which they are imposed change it’s way and agree with the international community.
  2. The whole world knows that Iran is NOT crating nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes. So stop acting like 4 year old and stop showing your stupid grin saying “We want nuclear power for peaceful purposes…”, yeah and Hitler only wanted to see how world domination feels like. In short – Iran will never have nuclear capabilities, just as Iraq didn’t (hint).
  3. What negotiations are the Iranian talking about?no one is negotiating anything – the world Demands that Iran will stop enriching Uranium and cease all nuclear development – no one is negotiating with you! Besides there is a saying:”If one person tells you you’re drunk – tell him to piss off, if two people tell you you’re drunk tell them to piss of, if everyone tells you you’re drunk ….. go to sleep….”.

To sum it all, Iran probably thinks the international community is playing it’s game, like Bart Simpson they are saying “we didn’t do anything , nobody saw us do it, you can’t prove anything…” but I can I assure the Iranian government – you can test the worlds patience for so long…. afterwords there will be no talking just the ruins of what used to be Iran….

Nothing can stop Iran

Obama probably figured things out with Iran when he signed the latest sanctions towards Iran. But the arrogant Tone and figure of speech by Ahmedinijad and the way he misleads (how ironic) his people is horrifying.
In one of his latest speeches, Ahmedinijad said that despite the sanctions Iran is exporting much more goods then it did before the sanctions, I doubt that anyone did a check on that but my guess is that Iran is loosing a lot of money in these sanctions and it’s citizens are suffering because of a single person – their leader (well a group of people maybe). Ahmedinijad also said that Iran’s enemies must change their hostile (?!) attitude or else – Iran will teach them an unforgettable lesson, the only hostile attitude and political threats are made by Mr. Ahmedinijad, and they was he incites his people over non-existing issues is shameful even for him and his entourage.

But the whole issue around Iran and the nuclear weapons development is an absurd, the men is clearly mentally ill. he is no more then a puppet on a string and the idiotic things he says (sadly) make all the microphones directed to him and analysts all over the globe analyze his every word, the press simply loves him and I believe they would pay good money for him to keep spreading his nonsense around as ratings go up for them.
If the leaders of the world would really like to end the Iranian saga, it is quite simple, put the sanctions and shut down the microphones on Iran until the Iranian nuclear development program stops. If he does not have anyone to threat or intimidate he becomes a non issue.

The problem and solution lay in the same place, the main risk of Iran is that with a lunatic like that leading a country which posses nuclear arms or any mass destruction weapons can easily press the button anytime he thinks a shampoo company in America violated the sanctity of Islam or any other Islamic matter…

CNN article about the issue

The control lights are flashing but no one is at the dashboard

Iran announced today that it has tried 5 new home made missiles some coast to sea and some sea to sea, what exactly is Iran trying to say? What is the hidden message behind such announcements? To me it is quite clear. Iran is telling the US: “We are manufacturing nuclear weapons and we don’t give a damn what you think – just try us and we already have the weapons to sink your boats…”

for some reason, the Us government is not really paying attention to what’s going on…is Iran becoming a superpower? Will a nuclear Iran be logical and reasonable? Will it’s leaders understand the responsibility that comes with such power? Or will another revolution such as the Islamic revolution which threw the shah away may involve usage of such weapons?

I guess the US government does not watch the Hollywood films which deal with this matter? Just think about it, these films would have not been made if the risk wasn’t there! The US was complacent once in the past and it lost 3000 people and one of it’s outstanding monuments, why wait until it happens again? Iran is one of the countries supplying those terrorists with the necessary materials and instruments to perform such horrible deeds and I cannot even think of a weapon with such force striking in the middle of the US. If it wasn’t for the lenient approach from the US, I am quite sure Iran would not proceed enriching Uranium and I am quite certain that Mr. Ahmedinidjad would not express himself is such a militant way.

Every country has it’s right to purchase and develop technology, weapons are not considered technology, weapons of such force may destroy the world.

Here’s a scenario:

A dispute over some stupid issue is starting 10 years from now, Iran will already have long range missiles with nuclear warheads on them, one of them is launched towards Israel, Israel retaliates with a similar missile immediately, the Us is trying to stop the conflict in the only way which will be available by that time which is a military invasion to Iran, Iran in return launches several nuclear missiles towards the US and Europe as an act of dispair.

That is a not so far fetched scenario given Iran’s history and the way Mr. Ahmedinidjad became “President”, this guy forged the election , threatens to kill his opposition or make them “disappear” is that a person in which you would trust the red button to destroy the world or at least most of it?

It’s like something I heard a combat pilot say on CNN when asked how he feels when he launches a missile, and he replied “it’s just a shiver on the left wing…”.

Iranian leadership does not treat human being the way we do in the west, life has very little meaning in such countries, those who wish to live simply shut up and don’t really speak their mind, so what advanced technology did Mr. Ahmedinidjad talk about in the past? May they should start with a proper government and law some civil rights and humanity before they ask for weapons which can destroy significant part of this planet.

Rainy morning 18.1.2010

Well A little bit of rain here in Israel and the whole country is cheerful, in our area the middle est rain is really a blessing and water supplies are scarce, so everyone is really happy when it rains (“I’m only happy when it rains…” :) ).

Of course the fact that we have very little rain here generates some rain related news.

So first of all here are some photos of Israel in this rainy day:

And now to the news.

Floods in the Negev (The southern part of Israel – essentially a desert area) have caused severe traffic jams and 3 car drivers which were stuck with their cars in the floods were rescued. Every year it’s the same it seems like nature is having a laugh, with all of our technology and knowledge a little flood stops the main road to Israel’s most visited city of Eilat.

The Israeli Prime minister, Mr. Binyamin Netanyahu flew to Germany today for a formal visit where he will meet with German officials in order to discuss the Iranian nuclear issue – well, whats new? Discussing an issue is always a good way of making the news but the real question is: Will it promote global interests? Will the Iranians abandon their nuclear weapons plan which they deny repeatedly? I think not, and I think the world is being a bit gentle about it, as if anyone believes Mr. Ahmedinidjad when he says his country needs nuclear technology for power reasons – power yes but the wrong kind of power. What he probably does not understand is that some nations will never allow a country like Iran to have nuclear weapons no matter how hard he screams over the microphone or how many Iranians follow him.

Welfare organizations are disappointed by the low level of contributions made by citizens in Israel, well I couldn’t expect anything else, with the economy in such a bad shape and people struggling provide for their own families I am not blaming anyone. What more, when Israel needed the world’s support about security issues it was slammed and Israelis around the globe were afraid to walk freely, I think the aid the Israeli Government is sending is quite a nice contribution and probably more then most countries do ( except the US of course).

Well it is still raining pretty hard and as I said, I really love winter days especially rainy ones so I am happy and with that note – I wish you all a great day!
