Stormy weather

Israel has been enjoying a fair weather for the past couple of months, but yesterday, all hell broke loose and the storm that swept Europe spreading it’s cold tentackles all over has reached our shores.

One must understand that Israel is a desert country by nature, yes we do have snow occasionally in the Hermon mountain and yes we do have lake galilee up north but in essence, our weather does not include 100 Km/h winds , hail and non stop rain, when such a weather strike our land, disasters will happen eventuallt.

As a result, this morning I woke up to find roofing parts spread all over our neighborhood, broken trees laying around in the middle of the street and of course, the electricity was down for about 3 hours in the morning. We are not equipped for such weather and as a result clothing and heating our houses is a big problem in such stormy days, especially when most of our heating systems is electricity based and when there is no electricity there is no heat.

Sirens are heard all over by ambulance vehicles and fire trucks rushing to deal with pending or already occurring disasters, as if the Carmel forest wasn’t enough – nature is teaching us a lesson.

The Wikileaks parse

Everybody is talking these days about the wikileaks website. In my eyes it is merely a media item, I cannot believe that a country as powerful as the United states of America cannot stop a group of men trying to publish confidential materiel on the internet which the US , if needed, can shut down all together.

The press releases about 400,000 confidential documents see to me obscure and imaginary and to tell you the truth, I don’t think anyone can check the authenticity of these documents. Be that as it may, the world media (and as far as I know only the media) is having a PR orgasm everybody is talking about it and stories about the wikileaks website keep rising from time to time.

The CNN website is full of such stories and I have to ask myself, the CIA is a very powerful organization, maybe even the most powerful secret service in the world, if the documents were authentic, and if this really was a threat, couldn’t such an organization stop such leaks?

Another question which rises is why would anyone right in their mind try and publish such documents? It is the same as signing your own death warrant, you will always be hunted and never free, your life will take place in dark places surrounded with investigators and government people, and the only time you will see daylight will be probably – at your own execution.

I am really finding this item hard to believe and as I think further about it I keep finding holes and fact that strongly indicate that such leaks exist only in the media’s wet dreams, information as sensitive as the one at hand leaking out of government offices cannot take place at such scale. I would understand one two or maybe ten documents leaking to the public, and I am pretty sure every country has it’s own secrets to leak but 400,000 documents? Common, even for the consiprators amongst us – this is too much!

The Carmel Forest is burning

It’s been two days now that the Carmel mountain and forest is burning out of control, the fire consumed many acres by now and the Israeli fire squads are standing helpless in front of the biggest fire ever to take place on Israeli soil.

The main issue in the news being the fire itself and how unprepared Israeli rescue forces were when it started and the fact that Israel had, for the first time in many years, ask for aid from the international community is shading something really interesting here, where did the fire start? And how did it start?

As for now the estimates are that the fire was not an accident and was actually a case of arson and probably on a national background – I.e. someone wanted to cause damage to the state of Israel and started a fire.

What many people don’t know is that several other fires were started across the country and were put out before they could become dangerous like the Carmel forest fire is now.

In the international community’s favor, we can really say that even countries which were recently in conflict with Israel sent aid such as Turkey, but then again, when a major earthquake hit Turkey, Israel was the first to send aid, in fact, this actually applies to most disasters occurring in the past year over the globe, starting with the Thailand tsunami and until the latest Tahiti earthquake.

It makes you think though, nature has it’s own way of thinning the population and reduce the number of living things in a certain area, so what the hell is everybody fighting for?

The Israeli people act a bit differently in cases of catastrophe then other nations in the world I guess the Jewish history made us a bit more sensitive to other members of our community so the western wall in Jerusalem was filled with Jewish worshipers praying for the safe ending of this catastrophe and the health of those dealing with it.

In short, burn baby burn is what our enemies will say and I say, the first thing to do after the fire is out, is to find out who started it …and why.

It’s been a long time since I …

Well, Led Zeppelin would say “Rock N’ Roll” but I’ll settle for “written on my blog”. No it’s not because there is an all out war in Israel, and certainly not because I do not care about my readers, just been a bit busy, life takes you by surprise when you least expect it, you know what they say.

Another reason I was absent for a while is the lack of sensations lately, no riots, no one is threatening anyone, and it seems too peaceful for the middle east, the end of days perhaps? Time will tell ;)

in any case, the national morale is rising, economy is improving significantly and people on the streets are smiling again after the long period of economic darkness the world experienced, but is that all there is to it? Talking to Israelis, who are well adjusted to such peaceful periods being followed by a period of chaos and uncertainty you will learn that althoug everything seems well, we are planning for the worst. Maybe it’s a Jewish thing, but we are not really used to not being persecuted or threatened at least once a week.

Juts the other day I opened my radio and when they didn’t say anything about some foreign politician condemning Israel for something, I thought the radio was broken, I cannot remember a time when Israel was not condemned for something, anything, selling too orange oranges to other countries, buying too much soda, taking a too long afternoon nap on weekends – anything.

Sarcasm aside, I really do feel, like many of my countrymen, something is “going down” something is boiling underneath awaiting to erupt, I just hope we will have the power to contain it when it does.

Cheers and have a great weekend.

Press and public opinion

how is it that Muslims are always depicted as the abused ones, those who wish no one harm and only want to live in peace, and we, the western world who are always busy stopping their terrorist acts, are always the “bad guys”?

How has the world become so blind that it cannot see the sarcastic use of democracy and civil rights done by Muslim terrorists to achieve public opinion sympathy?

I think the main reason is the media’s thirst for scoops and stories that will gain ratings, in other words, one of our freedom rights – the freedom of press is actually working against us, and by us I mean western civilization in general.

It is much easier to write a story about a little Muslim boy who got hurt in a battle that he “did not take part in”, a story that will make most people shed a tear and obviously buy more papers or watch more news on the TV which will sell more commercials, then to write about the real reasons such as that boy being used as a human shield by terrorists who fire missiles on innocent civilians.

A story on riots in Jerusalem will gain mire popularity then a story about the guard who fired a gun on Palestinians who threw killer rocks at him while he was on his way home to his wife and kids and action which caused the riots.

A “fascinating” story on how American Muslims have rights and how they should be allowed to build a mosgue in the very place 3000 Americans were murdered in the name of that same religion and it’s principles at the twin towers ground zero in Manhattan.

In short, I guess what I am trying to say is that we have no one but ourselves to blame in the terror spree we are witnessing all around the world these days. It is funny, but in my eyes, the safest place terror wise – is Israel, we know our enemies here, we know how they act and how an “innocent aid ship convoy” is actually an armament race to arm terrorists in the Gaza strip.

Europe is waking up from it’s terror slumber but it is a bit late now, Islam has almost taken over Europe, as the Lybian leader – muamar Kadafy once said – “we will take Europe without firing a single bullet”, we are just wondering – how long before the US will fall into the evil arms of Islam radicals.

The Unthinkable

Friday I sat down in front the TV and watched a movie named unthinkable. The movie itself was interesting enough to keep me awake until it’s end but the plot is what I wish to talk about in my article.

In the movie, an American Muslim Terrorist planted nuclear bombs in 3 different locations or cities if you will across the USA which will destroy those cities if his demands are not met by then.

After trying humanitarian investigation methods the US army and government call upon a “special” investigator with methods’ how can I say it, a bit different then what we are accustomed to in the west. The new investigator is depicted as a sadist in the beginning cutting fingers, tearing out fingernails etc… and everything a western person would define as cruel and sadistic.
BUT, the plot thickens when a few hours are left to the deadline and everybody – including a bleeding heart FBI female agent ask that investigator to “do his thing” and get the information that will save millions. The investigator asks that FBI agent to specify what exactly should he do, as if seeking for approval from her to justify what he is doing, but she cant say the specific words. Eventually the terrorist’s wife is killed in front of him, and he still doesn’t talk, and then his kids are entered into the torture chamber with him (although nothing is done to harm them) and the terrorist specifies where the bombs are located.

Now, there is actually a moral question here and a big one, and that’s what I liked about the movie, how long will one be willing to go to save millions’ and don’t answer right up, for example: Will you be able to hurt children if you were put in that situation? If you knew that by killing or maiming 2,3,5 kids in order to save 10 million people – would you do it?
For us, people of the western world it is a tough question, but for Muslim countries like Iran, Iraq, Syria, Lebanon etc… the answer is pretty obvious – yes they will. Recently they sentenced a women in Iran to be killed by stoning for cheating her husband, so think what they would do if someone threatened to detonate a bomb in the middle of Tehran…

The moral question keeps rising, but the main idea evades us, we treat our fellow men with dignety and respect, we respect life , ours and other people’s, Terrorists don’t.
The latest example is the Masgue next to ground zero, there are so many places on this blue marble we call earth to build Masgues, why does it have to be ground zero?
Let me ask the question in a different way, can we build a synagogue or a church next to the Masjid al-Haram? I wonder what will be the fate of the one even suggesting that idea…
If Israel for example will fire rockets on Palestinian civilians on [urpose like tha Hamas fires on Israeli Civilians what will happen then?

We are allowing our democracy and moral to be abused by Muslims radicals and Muslims in general. They go and do their deeds out of “innocence” and the west is always the conqueror and oppressor. This is why the world is headed to the biggest cultural clash in history, Islam is spreading fast and the consequences are catastrophic. Soom, there will be a Masgue in every American street, and the land of the free may return to be the wild west – yet again.

Peace talks? Where?

Israel prime minister Mr. Binyamin Netanyahu agreed to have direct peace talks with the Palestinian Authority, in CNN there is a nicely written article about the issue trying to view it from an optimistic point of view although it is written as if there is no hope of success.

Here are a couple of reasons why these negotiations will be futile:

Nobody even noticed there are scheduled peace talks.

In the Oslo talks, Madrid talks and almost any other peace talks, things heated up to a boiling point – at least here in Israel. The newspapers wrote about it weeks before it began, Television delayed other shows to make to for commentators and political advisors in special TV shows.

Until yesterday, a day after the announcement was made, the local newspapers did not even mention the issue in the front page, other issues are apparently more interesting.

From what I understand, the Palestinians are no better press wise.

The Palestinians layout demands before the process even starts.

This have always been a fail point for negotiations between Israel and the Palestinians, Israel will not agree to anything prior to sitting at the negotiations tables, even more so when the Palestinians keep firing rockets and missiles on Israeli cities and “Demand” that Israel will extend the moratorium regarding building at the settlements as if this is the only thing stopping them from making peace.

And the most important reason:

The Palestinians don’t want peace! – I am not talking about people on the street, I am quite sure that there are many that do, but the politicians – i.e. the hamas, and Islamic Jihad and their leaders are quite happy with how things are. The can always blame Israel for the poverty, lack of food, lack of basic services to people and in fact – everything bad, while they do they incite their people against Israel, the Palestinians believe their leaders and keep voting for them and the wheel goes round.

If there is no war with Israel, there is no reason for the Hamas or Islamic Jihad to exist now is there?

Thats the main reason why peace will never make the middle east it’s home, in countries where militants rule and the masses go after them like a herd of sheep “in the name of allah” there can never be peace.

If I was Mr. Netanyahu – I would decline and not go to any peace talks – until the Palestinians show real sincere intent for making peace. In other words – Show Me you Wanna make peace of STOP wasting my time

Islamic comics – The 99

A new comic book series named the 99, created by Naif Al Mutawa the series tells the story of 99 heroes, wielding 99 stones each empowering it’s wielder special powers, telepathy, ultra strength, fireballs and more.
The story is not too far from any other story in the comics world, but what is different is the reason the creator claims for creating this comic series, the target audience is naturally children, but the main message is that each stone wielder has a choice to join the forces of good or the forces of evil, much like in real life, Naif claims that the 99 represent Muslims all over the world, which can take the road and path of “good” Islam with it’s gifts and wisdom, or “Bad” Islam who spreads death and war wherever it exists.

I think such a comics series is a very good idea if it would be introduced properly to Muslim children all over the world and if the message keeps staying as it is now, but unfortunately, such endeavors in our days usually come with a lot of money, and as such, the also tend to change their path as they develop. In addition, it is important to have people in Afganistan, Iraq, Iran and similar places get the message, and I’m afraid it will not be a simple task, maybe if goverments join hand and take such a project seriously, it may actually have a chance to make a real change, but until then – I wish the Best of luck to Naif Al Mutawa in his road – may it succeed in stopping violence and advancing peace in the world.

Here is what the author has to say:

FaceBook Poker

I am playing facebook poker for a while now and I quite enjoyed it until recently when when facebook zynga poker (that’s the name of the game on facebook) decided to allow users to “buy” flags for show next to their name. Naturally, being Israeli I bought the Israeli flag, and every since I keep getting cursed, and suffer antisemitism remarks from other players – not only Arab and Muslim players.
Now, I understand racist remarks from Arabs and Muslims, they are all war mongers and wish to fight and incite, what I don’t understand is non-Muslims harassing me and my fellow Israelis.
Racist European not understanding that Europe is now almost completely Muslim and that future generations in Europe will probably be Muslims, their sons and daughters will have vails or hidjab or whatever they are called.
Maybe Europe is waiting for it’s next bombing done by Muslims to wake up and smell the roses, I just hope they wont do it from 6 feet under.
I guess Many Europeans and some Americans are just cowards, they go with the herd, afraid that if one day Islam will be in power, they will loose something.
To those people I say – selling your should for rumors and talking without really knowing all the fact, like one of them told me I should be ashamed of my country because we conquered other countries, I guess he also thinks that we drive camels rather then cars.
In any case, at first I ignored such dumb people, but I decided to answer back in the name of my people and my country whom I love.
