Rock in the casba?

I have stumbled upon thins movie a while ago and I did not know how and what to write in order to describe it. Today I was watching it again, and it occurred to me, this piece of video is a great parody about war and terror.

These soldier are in a patrol in one of the most dangerous places in Israel, practically a war zone with lots of gun barrels pointed at them at any given point in time, yet, they decide to take a mental break and in the middle of the street, they simply start dancing. There is no doubt that it was premeditated and planned yet, the place and the time they do it make the whole thing look surreal.

The Lebasene Mud

The Lebanese Mud is a phrase which every Israeli knows pretty well.  I means that the situation is sticky and difficult to resolve just as the Lebanese Mud is sticky and stubborn and does not come off quickly.

Yesterday, the IDF troops were attacked by the Lebanese army and one soldier was wounded severely during a routine cleanup and sweep they performed in the northern border. The Lebanse government did admit that they were the first to shoot but they also claim that the troops crossed the border.

Now, Israel sent announcements to the UN and the Lebanese government and all that talking doesn’t seem to do much good, my main question as a civilian now and as a peace loving person is: Why didn’t the Lebanese troops try to communicate with the IDF soldiers, and they decided to raise their weapons and shoot?

The answer is quite simple, they just wanted to create a provocation, that is why the Lebanese government is trying to come out of the situation by claiming that the Israeli troops crossed the border, when in reality, the Israeli troops were doing cleanup work (removing teens\hideouts etc…) from the DMS like they have been doing for many years now.

In my opinion, Hizbollah which is the de facto Lebanese government is looking for a reason to incite the region. You see, if there is nothing to fight about, what justification does a terrorist organization have for existence? If there is no war, no enemy, why fight? Why follow leaders like Hassan Nasralla? He offers nothing to his people aside from “destorying the zionist enemy” so why would people follow someone who cannot contribute anything to a peaceful nation?

That is the main reason for incidents such as yesterday shooting on the Lebanon border and that is also’ sadly’ the main reason Hassan Nasralla still exsists.

Nonconstructive Sanctions?

Iran showed it’s resentfulness on recent European Sanction following Iran’s persistent will to achieve nuclear abilities. The Iranians are claiming that these sanction are “neither assisting the negotiations nor do they impose any harm on Iran”.

I only have a couple of things to say to the Iranian leadership:

  1. Sanctions are not supposed to be constructive – at least not when they are imposed against you, these sanctions are supposed to be destructive and nonconstructive as to make the country against which they are imposed change it’s way and agree with the international community.
  2. The whole world knows that Iran is NOT crating nuclear weapons for peaceful purposes. So stop acting like 4 year old and stop showing your stupid grin saying “We want nuclear power for peaceful purposes…”, yeah and Hitler only wanted to see how world domination feels like. In short – Iran will never have nuclear capabilities, just as Iraq didn’t (hint).
  3. What negotiations are the Iranian talking about?no one is negotiating anything – the world Demands that Iran will stop enriching Uranium and cease all nuclear development – no one is negotiating with you! Besides there is a saying:”If one person tells you you’re drunk – tell him to piss off, if two people tell you you’re drunk tell them to piss of, if everyone tells you you’re drunk ….. go to sleep….”.

To sum it all, Iran probably thinks the international community is playing it’s game, like Bart Simpson they are saying “we didn’t do anything , nobody saw us do it, you can’t prove anything…” but I can I assure the Iranian government – you can test the worlds patience for so long…. afterwords there will be no talking just the ruins of what used to be Iran….

Iron Dome

Iron Dome, the codename for the IDF most advanced defensive system will protect Israeli cities and settlements from short range missiles. Today the final test was done to the system and it was – as expected – successful, the threat of short range missiles and rockets is now over.

Iron Dome

Iron Dome (from the IDF website)

I am quite sure the terrorists on the other side i.e. Gaza and Lebanon Will try and find a way to incite the region in different ways but now – it wont be as simple as firing rockets on civilians like cowards, perhaps now, these guys will have to stand up and fight like real men if they still think their cause is just!

The test made the news today and many people in the city of Sderot and the many other southern cities in Israel were ecstatic to hear that their nightmare of living in the shadow of the rockets threat is soon to be over.

The rockets threat until now was also a hassle from Israel’s northern border where the Hizbollah used rockets on Israeli civilians in the two Lebanon wars in recent years – now, I guess Hassan Nasralla and his friends will have to come out of their caves and fight the IDF which is a whole different game!

Here is a Video of the successful test today:

The Iron Dome is a part of Israel multi-layer defense plan which include the “Hetz” or arrow in enligh as the defense system against long range missiles, “Sharvit Ksamim” or Magic wand for medium range missiles and the “Kipat Barzel” or Iron Dome as the short range defensive system.

Nothing can stop Iran

Obama probably figured things out with Iran when he signed the latest sanctions towards Iran. But the arrogant Tone and figure of speech by Ahmedinijad and the way he misleads (how ironic) his people is horrifying.
In one of his latest speeches, Ahmedinijad said that despite the sanctions Iran is exporting much more goods then it did before the sanctions, I doubt that anyone did a check on that but my guess is that Iran is loosing a lot of money in these sanctions and it’s citizens are suffering because of a single person – their leader (well a group of people maybe). Ahmedinijad also said that Iran’s enemies must change their hostile (?!) attitude or else – Iran will teach them an unforgettable lesson, the only hostile attitude and political threats are made by Mr. Ahmedinijad, and they was he incites his people over non-existing issues is shameful even for him and his entourage.

But the whole issue around Iran and the nuclear weapons development is an absurd, the men is clearly mentally ill. he is no more then a puppet on a string and the idiotic things he says (sadly) make all the microphones directed to him and analysts all over the globe analyze his every word, the press simply loves him and I believe they would pay good money for him to keep spreading his nonsense around as ratings go up for them.
If the leaders of the world would really like to end the Iranian saga, it is quite simple, put the sanctions and shut down the microphones on Iran until the Iranian nuclear development program stops. If he does not have anyone to threat or intimidate he becomes a non issue.

The problem and solution lay in the same place, the main risk of Iran is that with a lunatic like that leading a country which posses nuclear arms or any mass destruction weapons can easily press the button anytime he thinks a shampoo company in America violated the sanctity of Islam or any other Islamic matter…

CNN article about the issue

Yet another “aid”\provocation ship for Gaza.

As I am reading a fresh article in the CNN website regarding an additional ship sailing to the shores of Israel in the intention to “provide Gaza with medical and humanitarian aid” I cannot help but writing a response here on my website. And why don’t I respond on CNN you ask? Simply because my words will probably be censored and most of what I want to say will not be read by anyone – I tried.

The first thing I would like to say about the story on CNN is about the first sentence: “Two days after Israel’s deadly attack….” I would write:

“Just two days after violating the Israeli territory, another ship with the intent to incite the arab world is headed towards Israel…” Thats how I, and everyone in Israel see it and thats exactly how each and everyone reading this story would feel if ships such as those stopped by the Israeli army, would violate your country’s rules and laws.

In the story, the CNN reporter makes sure to specify the ship’s cargo and of course it’s name “the rachel corrie” (for future reference when it will be stopped by the Israeli army) and specifically the fact that the ship’s cargo was checked by the Irish customs (the ship is embarking from Ireland). Now, here’s a thought you may have missed, my dear CNN reporter: Can’t that ship be loaded with weapons and ordnance at mid sea ? Do you think people or terrorists are that stupid? If you were a terrorist, would you load the weapons and missiles in Ireland or meat a Libyan, Tunisian, Algerian or any other ship in the middle of the sea and load the weapons there? The fact that the ship was inspected in Ireland is a nice thought but unfortunately for the world, terrorists are much more cleaver then you would imagine, it’s what they do – deceive public opinion.

Another thing which was written in the story is that this will probably won’t be the last ship, of course it wont,. Look at the incitement it caused? Look how much the world hates Israel now, that’s exactly the purpose of those ships, deliver weapons or create provocation, regardless, I would hate to disappoint the former US ambassador to Mauritania – Israel will respond to similar future threat such as the flotollia in the same manner it did with the flotollia, if not worse – that’s the only way to ensure Israel’s safety which is the most important thing to our leaders.

There is of course (how else?) a quote from an arab representative, Mr. Ghassan Al-Khateeb saying the peace talks are at a halt because of Israel’s violation of human rights(?!?!?), well Mr. Al-khateeb, what about those missiles which are fired daily on Israeli cities? Isn’t that a violation of human rights?….ohhh im sorry , I forgot, those are “terrorists” that are firing those missiles…

If you want peace, Mr. Al-Khateeb, cut the crap – stop those missiles and start acting like a leader, either that or resign and let your people have a real leader – one with guts.

Another phrase I would change in the article, and I quote: “The commando raid which led to the death of nine people…” I would rephrase it to: “the illegal convoy which violated Israel’s territorial waters causing the death of 9 people…”, doesn’t it strike you odd that Israel defended it’s borders and it;s now held guilty for that? I red the phrase “excessive use of force…” somewhere on the Internet in relation to current events, it made me laugh, those soldier weren’t carrying real guns, they boarded those ships with paintball guns to prevent casualties and were fired upon with live fire. Besides, what is Israel expected to do? Throw flowers at criminals? The broke the law and they were stopped, Arab countries do much more for much less…

There is a whole part about the Turkish prime minister and his anti-Israel speech to which I will not even give room in my article as I think his acts and sayings are anti-Israel, Anti-Jewish and I would advise that he would be careful at his goals. Turkey was a friend to Israel because of it’s western ideals and policy, becoming an Arab extremist doesn’t help him or his country.

One thing that really pissed me of with the CNN story is this statement: “many Israelis, whoc see themselves as between the rock and a hard place when it comes to how to approach the issues on the territory”, obviously the reporter is stating his or her opinion here, yesterday, I drove from Tel Aviv to Tiberias up north and along the road, in every intersection, there were people carrying the Israeli flags and sign that explicitly say: “well done Netanyahu…” I do not know where the CNN reporter gathered such information but it is obviously wrong and misleading as Israelis – even the most conservative ones – now realise that the territory is the new “wild west” they allow themselves to do and act as they see fit blaming “the terrorists every time Israelis get hurt. Everyone I know is now saying – NO MORE!

There is some more self righteous text about the Gaza blockade being immoral and that the people of Gaza shouldn’t suffer like that – well, nor should the Israeli suffer because the Palestinian authority cannot control terrorists within it’s borders.

To sum it all, the equation is quite simple:

NO MISSILES = NO BLOCKADE

maybe the palestinians need some more time to understand it, and maybe the world does too, us Israelis have long learned that for Arabs, our blood is lesser then water, and no one in the world, not the french, not the british, the Americans or the Turkish people will help us when we will be on the loosing side – that’s exactly why we will do everything to make sure – we always win!

Protest against Israel raid on The ships convoy

Well, nothing we havent seen before, but I would guess educated people should know what’s going on by now. The Ships came to Israel to achieve one of two goals:

To  deliver weapons and armaments to Gaza and the Hamas to be used against Israeli Civilians and if that doesn’t work (which it didn’t) they will create a provocation and get the UN and others to support them while they do their “doggy face” asking “What did we want? to deliver food and medical supplies to Gaza?!?!”

Well we in Israel don’t really pay attention to such allegations and the Israeli operation to stop those ships was legitimate just as any country has the right to secure it’s borders and keep it’s civilians safe. The UN stopped being neutral long ago and instead of dealing with burning issues such as the Iranian nuclear weapons plan it helps terrorists with their plans so they condemned Israel – big deal – nothing new.

With regards to the protests in Arab countries – thats so funny to me, they took mock up bodies, wrapped them in Palestinian and Turkish flags as if there were real bodies inside, just think about what they did in the last conflict with Hizbollah when we saw such sights on the TV.

Turkey , surprisingly, is leading the incitement against Israel, taking into consideration that much of Turkey’s tourism is based on Israeli tourists I’d say Turkey is shooting itself in the foot, not to mention the Muslim mob growing inside the Turkish country, so the Israeli ministry of foreign affairs issued a warning for Israelis traveling to Turkey saying: “Israelis are not safe in Turkey today…”. I wouldn’t go there even if they paid me money to go, after the riots in during a basketball game with an Israeli team it simply shows they have respect for nothing at all – not even sports.

To sum it all – nothing is new under the sun, I’m glad Israel stopped those ships and I would have been happier if it would have done so ever more harshly then it did!

“Cruise” to gaza

Today it finally happened, although Israel warned the ships not to come to it’s shores un-inspected for days now, the ships still came and 15 people died in combat! (wasn’t it supposed to be humanitarian?!?!).

Israel suggested to deliver the “humanitarian” shipment to Gaza after inspecting it in the Ashdod naval port, but the ships chose to ignore Israel’s right to defend it’s territorial waters and infiltrated it’s border.

Now I ask you, what did they expect? If a ship would infiltrate into US water what do you think the US army would do? They would blast those ships out of the water along with everyone on them.

What really bothers me is the apologizing attitude of the Israeli leaders I don’t think Israel should apologize defensive actions taken by it’s army – after all that’s what its there for!

Terrorists such as those people who came on those ships choose to ignore rules and laws all the time and they try to get away with claim of democracy or like in this case “Humanitarian aid” which is quite obvious to everyone that the cargo was weapons and as a matter of fact they opened fire on the Israeli soldier when the arrived to stop the ships from approaching it’s waters. Let this be a lesson to all Terrorists: “ you break the rules = you get hurt” and there is no other way, the people on those ships were adults and they knew exactly what they are getting into, you cannot provoke a whole country trying to undermine it’s control over it’s territory and then make a cute “doggy face” and say “all we wanted to do is help” – there are ways to help!, there are ways to deliver humanitarian aid (if such aid is needed – and in Gaza it’s not!) if they really wanted to help they would ask the Israeli government to deliver those goods and not try to breach it’s governance and get into the country with no permission – hell, some countries shoot immigrants trying to cross their borders on foot – but the international community is apparently blind to provocation and blind to the way terrorists act, this is why most Europe and the US are subject to terror attacks even more then Israel. They let terrorists go away with far too many thing in the name of democracy, freedom of speech and the bill of rights.

Something must be done about it and I guess Israel was chose to be the first to do it.

Well done!

Siren Drill

This Wednesday there is a country wide siren drill in which sirens (war sirens) will be activated and Israeli citizens are asked to get into their shelters as part of the drill.

Such a drill is nothing new, but it can tell you a lot about how people live here in Israel.

We are not afraid, we do care about our fellow Israelis, in contrary to our enemies we value human life and above all making sure our way of life will continue. Drills like this one took place in the past and usually they let Israelis know about an upcoming offensive by the current threat – be it Hizbollah, Hamas, neighboring countries etc…

I do hope’ however, that should such an offensive occur, Israel will release itself from it’s bounds which were enforced by the international community and the US especially, and it should retaliate in a proper manner. If Hizbollah thinks launching missiles is a good idea when Israel-US relationships are non-existent let them try.

I think that this time the Israeli response will not be subtle, and Lebanon will change it’s scenery afterward. Israeli citizens do not wish for a situation where we are at war, but the constant threat of missiles from the north and the occasional harassment which is always excused as a”fanatic group action” are no longer acceptable. Israel is a country, Lebanon is a country, if missiles are fired from the Lebanese territory, the Lebanese army should take care of it, and if it can’t, the IDF will take care of it.

The control lights are flashing but no one is at the dashboard

Iran announced today that it has tried 5 new home made missiles some coast to sea and some sea to sea, what exactly is Iran trying to say? What is the hidden message behind such announcements? To me it is quite clear. Iran is telling the US: “We are manufacturing nuclear weapons and we don’t give a damn what you think – just try us and we already have the weapons to sink your boats…”

for some reason, the Us government is not really paying attention to what’s going on…is Iran becoming a superpower? Will a nuclear Iran be logical and reasonable? Will it’s leaders understand the responsibility that comes with such power? Or will another revolution such as the Islamic revolution which threw the shah away may involve usage of such weapons?

I guess the US government does not watch the Hollywood films which deal with this matter? Just think about it, these films would have not been made if the risk wasn’t there! The US was complacent once in the past and it lost 3000 people and one of it’s outstanding monuments, why wait until it happens again? Iran is one of the countries supplying those terrorists with the necessary materials and instruments to perform such horrible deeds and I cannot even think of a weapon with such force striking in the middle of the US. If it wasn’t for the lenient approach from the US, I am quite sure Iran would not proceed enriching Uranium and I am quite certain that Mr. Ahmedinidjad would not express himself is such a militant way.

Every country has it’s right to purchase and develop technology, weapons are not considered technology, weapons of such force may destroy the world.

Here’s a scenario:

A dispute over some stupid issue is starting 10 years from now, Iran will already have long range missiles with nuclear warheads on them, one of them is launched towards Israel, Israel retaliates with a similar missile immediately, the Us is trying to stop the conflict in the only way which will be available by that time which is a military invasion to Iran, Iran in return launches several nuclear missiles towards the US and Europe as an act of dispair.

That is a not so far fetched scenario given Iran’s history and the way Mr. Ahmedinidjad became “President”, this guy forged the election , threatens to kill his opposition or make them “disappear” is that a person in which you would trust the red button to destroy the world or at least most of it?

It’s like something I heard a combat pilot say on CNN when asked how he feels when he launches a missile, and he replied “it’s just a shiver on the left wing…”.

Iranian leadership does not treat human being the way we do in the west, life has very little meaning in such countries, those who wish to live simply shut up and don’t really speak their mind, so what advanced technology did Mr. Ahmedinidjad talk about in the past? May they should start with a proper government and law some civil rights and humanity before they ask for weapons which can destroy significant part of this planet.
